When I think of the best times of my life, they always include the 2 years I spent in the Joliet Central Band from SEP 1971 to Spring 1973. It shaped my life to come.

O.k. youngsters step aside. I played in Grade School and j.t.h.s.band followed by the American Legion Band. The Legion band from 1946 to 1950. Band Director was Sr. A.R. McAllister in High School and Archie McAllister,Jr.Band Director for American Legion band. I just read in todays Chicago Tribune an article pertaining to the band proposed reunion by Mr. Robert Moore concerning planned reunion next year and sent him a picture of drummers in that time with bass drum showing five time champions and being ready for trip to Miami, Fl. Being a drummer {Myself included in picture}.

when did they stop having blue and gold sponsors.added a little class and gave members a chance to choose the prettiest and smartest senior females in the school.i too miss the sound of the 54-58 band. where else could you get a great music education, travel all over the country, and have a director that mumbled in penn.dutch or broke two or three batons every practice? truly great memories!!!!
