JTHS BAA MEETING MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER 12, 2008

ATTENDANCE:  Megan, Melissa, Jan, Brad, Art and Mary Beth

A short meeting was held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, with new subjects for discussion regarding future website along with current membership and ways to increase future membership.

The Treasurer's report was reviewed and $40.00 added to donations and $30.00 for membership. Motion was made to accept corrected treasurer's report by Melissa and 2nd by Mary Beth.

Minutes from the Aug/Sept meeting were reviewed and motion to accept by Jan, and 2nd by Melissa.
minutes from the Annual Meeting need to be sent to Jan to include in next mailing.

Future Website was discussed. The high school is changing to a new website and it is unsure if Alumni Band will be able to be a part of it. The Board needs to check on this as a possibility or the charge of starting their own website.

New membership and working sessions were reviewed. The Board is trying to initiate ways to encourage new alumni membership as well as finding members. There are cards currently being mailed out to all JTHS alumni to publish a current alumni book. The Board will attempt to obtain any lists from the alumni association to cross reference for any band members if possible to secure current addresses. The next working session is scheduled for Tues., Jan 13, 2009.

New Business: It was recommended to provide pizza for the Basketball Game get together in February 2009. The idea would have to be discussed with Mike F. to be allowed. If we are allowed to bring in food, Mike would need to let the high schoolers be made aware of this so thy can inform their parents of the activity after the game.

Alumni have asked for a "dues incentive" program such as 5 yr/$45.00 or 10 yr/$80.00. The board reviewed this and tabled this idea at this time. It was also recommended that more events be planned at predicable intervals. It was suggested to have post concert get togethers.

The Board reviewed a letter from Jim Brodnicki to introduce a fundraising opportunity that he is involved with over the internet. The recommendation was denied by Melissa and 2nd by Jan and the rest of the board.

Next meeting is Dec 10th Wednesday.
