JTHS BAA Monthly Meeting Minutes 3.9.11

Attendance: Brad, Gene, Jan, Melissa, Art

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.

REVIEW OF MINUTES: Correction made to strike a line from the previous month’s Minutes.  Gene motioned to approve as amended.  Jan seconded.  Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Gene motions to approve the payments made to reimburse Art for pizza and Melissa for office supplies, Jan seconds.  Bowling profits almost tripled last year’s. Melissa motioned to approve.  Art seconds.  Motion carries.  Discussion was held regarding the possibility of opening an entirely separate bank account for scholarship funds as opposed to a separate column.

MAILINGS: Design of the postcard was discussed, as well as the name of the concert.  A heavy discussion regarding non-profit postage was held, and it was decided that it would not be beneficial enough for us to apply and pay for a non-profit permit.   A thank you note for businesses, donors, and attendees was reviewed and approved.  Gene and Brad to work on the registration webform.  Gene will email the postcard to all board members with a deadline of Monday evening for any changes prior to going to print.

ANNUAL DONATIONS: Melissa motioned to make our annual donation of $500 to each of the high school bands.  Gene seconded.  Motion carried.

TIMELINES:  Concert timeline and bowling fundraiser timeline will be the subject of our next working session, scheduled for March 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Jan’s house.

REIMBURSEMENT OF WEBSITE EXPENSE: Brad motioned for Gene to be reimbursed for the cost of maintaining our website.  Melissa seconded.  Motion carried.
